Today is my Grandpa’s 65th birthday. Mom tells me this is a very special day. It marks 65 years over which Grandpa has accomplished a great deal. He is a first born of a large Catholic family, a farm boy, an awry teenager, a big brother, an athlete, a pilot, a musician, an amazing and dedicated son, a loving husband, a farmer, a teacher, a patriarch, a loyal friend, a cattleman, a horseman, a patron of animals, an amazing father to 3 girls, a grandpa to 4 grandchildren (3 boys - 1 very special girl), a chef, a tractor restorer (whatever you call that), a old car aficionado, a construction worker (at 65!), a carpenter, a furniture maker, an open spirit who embraces change with an ever positive view of the future.
We were playing bocce when Mom took this photo. She said I would enjoy playing with Grandpa. Until then I’ll continue to enjoy our iChats.
