At Cape Kiwanda we finally hiked to the top of the huge sand dune. Brandon was the real trooper lugging a 25lb camera back pack and Bryce up the hill. But the weight was not the biggest challenge. It was the burning hot sand under our barefeet that we’ll remember the most. The good thing is that my feet are softer than they’ve been in as long as I can remember now that about 4 layers of skin have been scorched off. I like to call this the burning sand “beach” pedicure.
Bryce was so good—letting us hold him all the way up. The view and the fun we had being simply startled by the heat of the sand was worth it.
